Parking Disaster
by Christina on Oct.29, 2008, under Random Things
About a week ago I was shopping near my old home town. There is a sweet little thrift shop in Perth Amboy, NJ called Margarite’s where I like to go to get sweaters for cheap. If you’ve ever been to Amboy you know that parking sucks.
Well, me and my good friend Annmarie came up with a solution to that problem! Right next door is a Rite Aid with free parking o’ the plenty. So For 6 years now everytime we visit we park in Rite Aid. No problems, no worries or hassles.
Thursday was different. I pulled in to park and walked to the store to shop. When I returned my car was gone. GONE! Now, I wasn’t in the best area so I started to get nervous. Then, this guy walks up to me and says “red Pontiac GT?” I nodded. “I impounded it, you can’t park here and go shopping.” He then tells me it’s up on his truck behind the building and I can have it back for $130 cash right now.
I didn’t have that kind of cash on me, but no problem, he knew where the nearest mac was.
Turns out he and a co-worker were scouting the lot for improper parking! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I know times are tough for everyone but COME ON!
Anyway, the name of the towing company is P.P.M Towing out of Maplewood, NJ. Please beware when parking, well, anywhere really. Also, a bit of advice: if you ever find yourself in this situation, don’t give him the money. Call the police first, because I’m not so sure if what he did to me is completely legal.

Dreading The Seasons
by Christina on Oct.06, 2008, under Music
I want to take this time to honor an awesome up and coming rock band form New Brunswick, NJ. I saw Dreading the Seasons at Ramapo College about 2 years ago. They opened for the band I was actually interested in seeing.
What a show! I instantly became a fan. My favorite song, Homesick, is off their debut self titled EP.
Check them out at www.myspace.com/dreadingtheseasons. You can purchase tracks directly from the artist there.
If you dig them as much as I do you can purchase both entire cd’s at www.smartpunk.com and www.interpunk.com. The newest one coming soon!
