Man On A Mission!
by Christina on Apr.24, 2009, under Random Things
I simply love it when extraordinary people do extraordinary things! My friend Jeff has been planning to ride his bicycle across the United States for about a year now.
Well, at 7:00am Thursday morning, he set out to do so!
Equipped with nothing but a few changes of clothes, rain gear, some cash, and a hand held GPS, he departed from Hazlet, NJ.
His first stop? Philadelaphia, PA. According to his blog, he’s close to his destination.
I was hoping to meet up with him and take his picture for this little story, as I live 15min from Philly. However, I’m sure he would like to keep his deadline.
Ok, so of course you would like to know where he’s gonna end up right? Final Destination: Key West, FL. Now, I’m not really sure if this is just a temporary end point, or if he is going to continue on from there. Last time we spoke, he was heading all the way out to CA from Jersey. Maybe FL is the test run. We’ll see!
In the mean time, show him some love! You can follow his route, read his road blogs, and get pics and updates. www.bike-the-usa.com.
Give it up for the amazing people of this world! Without them we’d have nothing to reach for.

Twilight
by Christina on Apr.11, 2009, under Books, Movies, Music
I just recently finished the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. Actually, I borrowed the complete set from a friend just 2 weeks ago! It took me a total of 5 days to read it. What did I like about it? EVERYTHING.
I’m hooked! Completely in love with the story, the characters, and the idea of it all.
A short while after I finished the first book, I sat down to watch the movie. Although, it is no where near as good as the book, it is definitely worth watching. I find myself watching it at least once a day just to keep Bella and Edward in my life.
Robert Pattinson is the character who plays Edward Cullen. You may remember him as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies. He is amazing!
The soundtrack to the movie offers many lovely tunes such as Bella’s Lullaby. It also includes a couple songs by Robert Pattinson. His voice is new and different. It sends chills down my spine.
So, as you can see between the books, the movie, and the soundtrack, obviously Twilight had taken over my life. Not that I mind! I’ve always been one to hide away in the fantasy worlds of books.
On a more sour note, the author of the series has decided to put the 5th book on hold indefinitely, due to an Internet leak. However, you can read about 265 pages of the rough draft if you visit her website. www.stepheniemeyer.com
The story of Midnight Sun is nothing more than Twilight from Edward’s point of view. Still, I can’t help but be disappointed that it is not going to be released. Maybe some day we’ll be able to change her mind. For now though, I guess I’ll just have to make due with what I have.
Please read, watch, listen, love, and enjoy all of it! It is an experience you don’t want to miss. Below you’ll find my favorite lines of the story.
Edward: “And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.”
Bella: “What a stupid lamb.”
Edward: “What a sick, masochistic lion.”
Fast And Furious
by Christina on Apr.06, 2009, under Movies
Friday, Rob and I went to go see the new addition to the Fast And The Furious collection. I have three words for you: ROCKED MY SOCKS!
I’m am a huge fan of Vin Diesel( I’m a women, give me a break). Also, fast cars turn me on! Especially classic American Muscle.
Fast And Furious was packed with more action, faster cars, and hotter bodies.
3 things you don’t want to miss:
#1: 1972 Ford Gran Torino
#2: The opening scene is definitely in the top 5 all time greatest opening scenes
#3: The twist that the plot takes to set the movie into action will shock and surprise you.
I have one more thing to say, the ending? Haha, just kidding, I wouldn’t do that to you!
If you still haven’t seen it, do it! I deem this flick “Movie Theater Worthy”
