Michael Jackson Is Dead

by Christina on Jun.26, 2009, under Music, Random Things

Text messages, phone calls, Twitters, Myspace blogs, and your Facebook status……STOP THE MADNESS!

I don’t care. Period. People I know are crying like they knew him. Radio stations are playing his music over and over and over. That hasn’t been done since 1989.

This man has had zero music produced in the last 12 years. In that time though, he managed to mangle his appearance and his reputation. Or did you all forget? He likes to touch little boys…hello?

Whatever.

Some may say they want to remember him the way he first came on the scene. That can be done. His music will live on forever. However, the man, the child molester is dead. so, put on Thriller, do a little tribute dance, and move the @%$& on.

I sent a very funny text last night. I’ll share it with you.
“Due to the fact that Michael Jackson was 90% plastic, his body will be melted down and turned into army men, so little boys can play with him for a change.”
Classic funny! Well, some replies were disappointing. “That upsets me.”, “Too soon.”, “Awwww.”

Oh, bite me. If you can’t take a joke, just close your ears and go back to mourning “The King Of Pop”. Cause you know, you guys were like totally besties and everything. Pffft. Pathetic.

The Hangover

by Christina on Jun.14, 2009, under Comedy, Movies

Yesterday, I forced my boyfriend to take me out and entertain me. He needs a push every once in a while, or I’ll wind up on the couch alone for the rest of my life, while he plays StarCraft in the other room.

Ok, ok, I’m getting off topic.

We decided to go to the movies. At 3pm we showed up at our local movie theater ready for food, fun, and our flick. The Hangover.

I’ve got two words for you: Laugh riot.

You need to go see it. This movie is literally 96min of non-stop laughing. In case you still don’t get it, IT IS CHOKE ON YOUR POPCORN FUNNY. I was still giggling an hour later.

I give it 5 out of 5 stars, and would pay the outrageous theater price to see it again.

Check out the synopsis, the trailer, and other details, or get tickets at  http://www.moviefone.com/movie/the-hangover/35061/main.

DO IT!

A Day At Six Flags

by Christina on Jun.08, 2009, under Random Things

This morning Rob and I got up at bright and early to take the trip out to Jackson, NJ for a day of fun at Great Adventure.

We decided this year we would buy 3 park season passes. By the way, great idea! The cost: $130 per person, plus $42 for season parking. That’s all three parks for the whole season! Awesome.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been out there. Of course, I was not disappointed.

People in large character costumes, roller coasters, toys, and food? Can you say “YAY!”

We only live about 45min from the park, which is great. However, it started to down pour, so we left before the rush. Yeah, it stopped half way home! Good thing we got passes!

A few things to know if you haven’t been there in a while:
Kingda Ka runs maybe a dozen times per day. It’s always breaking down and if you do get a chance to ride it, you may not get all the way around the loop if it’s to windy.

The Dark Knight is nothing but a sick ploy to get adults to ride a kiddy roller coaster. It’s indoors, so if you’ve never seen it you won’t know you’ve been fooled until you’ve waited in line for 30 min.

Bizarro is really just Medusa with a bit more smoke and glamour. Which explains why they aren’t running Medusa anymore.

The Batman And Robin coaster is GONE.

If you have lunch at the food court in the front around 2pm, you may be subjected to Kids Karaoke while you dine.

Said lunch WILL cost you around $40.

All that being said, you can still rely on the classics like Rolling Thunder and The Scream Machine. That alone makes the trip worth it.

We didn’t get a chance to ride El Toro. I’ve never been on it, but am excited for my chance to try out the third fastest wood coaster in the world. I’ll post a review next time we go.

Summer has begun! I can’t think of a better way to kick it off.
