Thursday in Philly

by Christina on Mar.09, 2009, under Concerts, Music

On Friday, March 6th at 8:00pm, my boyfriend and I arrived at the Electric Factory in Philly to see Thursday and the rest of the Taste Of Chaos tour. Ok, so we didn’t really care to see the rest of the tour.

The line up consisted of Bring Me The Horizon, Pierce The Veil, Four Years Strong, Cancer Bats, and finally the headliners, Thursday.

First, if your ever planning on catching a show in that city, DON’T DRIVE. Let public transportation be your friend.

Second, we left the house late in hopes of catching Thursday, having a few drinks, and being on our way. Wow, the night could not have gone farther from the plan.

Thursday didn’t come on until 10:30. If you, like us listened to their Myspace, you would’ve been slightly misinformed. We expected 8:00.

Also on a side note, my boyfriend has a broken toe. No pit for him! That pretty much just leaves the bar as hang out spot #1.

By the time our band did come on, we were a little pissed, a little drunk, and a lot out of money. Nothing for me to do at that point but head into the pit and slam out the rest of the evening.

As far as the set went, of course it was awesome! Thursday is one of the best live bands of this generation. Also, they played War All The Time, which is my fav. So, that alone in my book gives them a two thumbs up.

The crowd? Oh man, what crowd? I’ve seen Thursday now in NJ, NYC, and PA. I must say there is no place more energetic and crazy then NYC. Now that I’ve been to a Philly show, I’ll say there is no place more boring and lifeless. The people just stood there on the floor in front of the stage. Emo kids with there hair in their faces and tight pants, gag me.

Metal was made for moshing. If you’re not into it, go sit in the seats and leave the floor to the big kids.

I WILL see Thursday again! I will, however, not being doing it in Philly, umm ever again.
